The 350Z community is still waiting for a solution for the 2004 VQ35 ECM, and it wasn't as radically changed from the 2003 model as the LS2's ECM was from the LS1. The LS2 is still a low volume engine, so the code vendors don't yet have the same incentive to throw large amounts of effort at it as they do for engines produced in larger volume. I'd love to be proven wrong about this, but it takes time to crack these things. One code vendor was saying next spring, but you know how software projects are, that date will almost certainly slip to later in the year, maybe even into 2006. I'm sure people are working on cracking the new ECM and TCM, but I wouldn't expect a solution to be found until some time next year. That's completely terra incognita for the crackers.

That was one of the big changes for 2005. Of course the transmission parameters are now in a separate TCM. Code reading is relatively simple, and there is an international standard for the OBDII protocol. But that's a long way away from being able to change the maps.

It is true that one scanner vendor has figured out how to *read* some of the extended GM codes out the OBDII port. So the maps which would need to be changed are in different locations in memory, and may be in a different format.
